Easy Way to Help Make Kids' Products Safer

Last week I posted an article about the Nuby recall. You can find that on my Mom-Rated page. It also made we wonder how can we prevent this stuff BEFORE it hits the market. Here is something we can do about it! The Kid Safe Chemical Act is supposed to be presented before congress again this summer. As of now, only 5 chemicals are presently banned in items used by children and infants. Yet, we see things popping up all over the news about new precautions and problems linked to toxins of these toys, bottles, and products. Thank you Parent magazine for posting the article “Support Safer Kids’ Products!!

Below is the link to a letter you can sign and send to your senators and congress people to show them how important this bill is. Please pass this on to others so we can flood their office. If someone is in the business to make products for children, then they should be given some guidelines to make them safe. If they aren’t safe, parents should at least be aware of what the make-up is. After all, we know the ingredients of the food we eat. I don’t know about you, but my little one puts just about everything in her mouth. I call it her third hand. I admit, we let our guard down at times. So maybe the remote for the TV isn’t childproof, but you would think her teething rings would be?!
