ABOUT ME
I went into motherhood thinking I had everything under my belt. Not only do I have a large family and have worked with children since I was young myself, but am also a certified teacher. The more I learned throughout my pregnancy, the more I knew I didn't know!! It was a whole new world of information that I couldn't get enough of. Besides tracking the week by week status of the baby inside me through emailed updates, pregnancy books, and magazines...I still found my husband and I Googling questions on the internet that were not touched upon in any of my prenatal appointments. After an emotional experience of an early miscarriage, we came across a midwives group that changed some of our thoughts and direction of our birth plan. The more we learned the more comfortable we were in anticipation for the big day! Once our daughter arrived there was a whole other world of questions I had about whether I was doing things right, what was considered normal, and when I would get to sleep through the night...which I've been teased with a mere handful of times.
So here I sit with a new appreciation of motherhood. While I certainly claim to be no expert, I thrive in not only sharing but also receiving tid-bits of knowledge that will make a difference. Whenever I see someone out with a little one, I wonder how their lives compare, what worked for them, and if they also feel like it's a trial and error journey. I feel "why invent the wheel"? If something works, great! Share it. If there is a new health benefit or concern, isn't that worth passing along? If one person's experience can help another in this world where we have to get through a lot of muck for truth, we need to convey it. So let's begin...and thanks so much for stopping by! My hope is that this website will be a resource for others if not for at least a way to relate and re-connect. Welcome to Life Boat Baby.
